The IOBSE is a non-profit, 501(c) organization. However, in 1999, the IOBSE created the student scholarship program and presented the first scholarship for $1000.00 to a student at Jackson State University. Several years later, the scholarship amount was increased to $1,500.00 and renamed the Robert B. Burke Scholarship, after one of the IOBSE's distinguished members who passed in 1992. Scholarship Award Selection Criteria & ProcessThe IOBSE offers to academically gifted Minority students the opportunity to develop career options in the field of Security. A $1500 scholarship is awarded to those students demonstrating an interest in Security as a profession.
